Not only Marsala sustains the people of Lilybaeum

The Bertolino brothers should be described as they are: true oracles of organic agriculture and winemaking in Sicily.

Between Marsala and Mazara del Vallo, with great dedication and passion, the two brothers have chosen to produce low-impact wines by embracing ancestral vineyard work — no agricultural machinery is allowed in their rows.

Their oenology guides us to the discovery of great local classics such as Grillo and Catarratto, but also to the rediscovery of ancient vines such as Parpato, the whitest red that exists (10.5°). Some welcome guests like Sangiovese – believe us, not at all out of place – square the circle.

Some labels have already become iconic; the others soon will be.

And if you want to delight your palate with Nonna Carmela’s tomato sauce, bring along a big piece of bread for “la scarpetta” — one bite won’t be enough.
