Here, wine is history, that of a family.
Wine, as we well know, is often the thread of a centuries-old tale, a narrative that speaks of men and their passions, of attachment to a territory, of family ties. Like in all stories, albeit recent, there is also a passion, a territory, and a family here. This is how the story of Cascina Amalia begins, first with a countryside escape within the walls of an old farmhouse in Monforte d’Alba, where Luigi and Maria Angela build their retreat, which soon transforms into a winery.
Because here we are in the heart of the Langhe, within the boundaries of one of those eleven municipalities in Piedmont where Barolo can be produced, and the call of the land is not avoided, nor that of a community that has built its fame in the world of great winemakers around the celebrated wine.
Luigi and Maria acquire two plots in the prestigious Crus of ‘Bussia’ and ‘Le Coste di Monforte’. Here, a few years later, their son Paolo will start producing his wine, working seven hectares of organically managed vineyard.
Elegant, rich, complex wines, a true expression of the terroir of origin.
We are of course talking about the great Barolo crus such as ‘Monforte’ and ‘Bussia,’ but also pure nebbiolo and then Barbera, there is also Dolcetto, not least the Rossese Bianco delle Langhe a wine that impresses with its character and savoriness.
So many wonders in a few bottles.
